Tick Tock Tick Tock

Eclessiastes 3:1-15

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heaven:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
What do workers gain from their toil? I have seen the burden God has laid on the human race. He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. I know that there is nothing better for people but to be happy and to do good while they live. That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God. I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that people will fear him.
Whatever is has already been,
and what will be has been before;
and God will call the past to account.

The greatest commodity that God can give to us while following this journey towards His promise is TIME. We are busy human beings who rarely understand ‘patience’ while waiting. We love to take matters into our own hands thinking that this might be it.

There is a difference between discerning what God wants us to do and just merely being impatience. Usually this decision came when the choices are good and good until we thought which one will be best? Or when things are not as we thought it should be. God’s timing is impeccably precise. We can never fathom this. This matter of time is a life mystery that will never be solved. So on today’s journal I want to share my thoughts and my experience with Him through time travel.

Time for God is not as how we perceive time and I like to say that His timing is His sovereignity. Many of us maybe cringe at this thought because it cause us to have this unsettling feeling, not knowing when and where God will set things into motion. Especially for people who loves to plan and to set a life goal this is a test of total surrender.

I am one of those person, this I have to learn the hard way. God promise me something about fourteen years ago. A beautiful future, an amazing destination, although that time I might be quite ignorant to the fact that He was promising me something. So I led a life that was not driven by that promise. I almost missed my chance. But five years ago, I came back to Him and He told me that His promise is still the same. He is a just and faithful God. This is where I learnt that His time is beautiful. He has given me another chance, He gave me another season for me to prepare myself to go to the promise land.

Maybe for us who has been waiting upon God long enough couldn’t really see the bright side of this lengthy process. We would have thought ‘God I have been faithful and I can’t believe You still don’t let me break camp and go to the promise land’. I can tell you this, this is not about when we want it. This is about when He needs us to play our part in this big chess game of life. I always see Him as a master strategist, pulling strings and making moves here and there. So when God lets us sit in this waiting period, we better be glad because we are up next!

Therefore, when God provide you with a period of Time for us to wait upon while being processed we should take it. These seasons are most crucial. This is where your faithfulness in God will be tested to it’s core. Do you really believe the unseen? Or you would be so disappointed you left so early from the whole trip? Because He needs His people that has complete their training.

Time determines many things. Our obedience, honesty, endurance, how far we are wiling to fight for it and most of all Time raise mature people. Today, I write this to you not because I am in the promise land, but instead I am in the season of waiting. I can tell you that I see His hands working everyday. Whether it is small or big, I promise you, you will get there. Just lift up all of your worries and burden, let Him deal with the impossible. Our job is to be patience and go through all the process.

I pray for you, whoever you are, who is in waiting. You will one day come out as a strong warrior, combat ready. You will be the bride that is glowing with all the beauty in the world. And you will become the messenger that this world needs, a messenger of love to show God’s glory…
